Is liquified petroluem gas a safe alternative for vehicles?

Saturday 18 April 2009 @ 2:08 am

this kind of gas is cheaper compared to gases used by automobiles. but isn’t it dangerous to convert your car to LPG? also, is this kind of gas helps lessen combustion of cars? would you consider this alternative more environment friendly compared to other gases like diesels, etc. thanks.

Why is it the motorist always gets smacked when it comes to the environment?

Saturday 18 April 2009 @ 2:08 am

Don’t get me wrong I know cars emit a lot of co2 etc but the motorist is heavily taxed enough as it is without adding more!.
It wouldn’t be so bad if there was more alternatives but the public transport outside major towns in this country is a joke! What are we supposed to do? go back to the good old days of waggon and horses when it took weeks rather than hours to get somewhere?
Why isn’t our government pushing car manufacturers towards alternatives more?(fuel cells etc) instead of looking for ways of penalizing people that cant afford new more efficient cars or just cant do without there car.
Oh! and whilst I’m venting…lol…how come people keep attacking the motorist for his polluting ways when they’re quite happy to go of on there holidays in a plane that can put out more co2 into the environment in one trip than my car(2litre turbo) in a year!..bloomin hypocrites!………Whinge over. :-)

Other than ethanol, did Bush propose anything specific on alternative fuels? Will oils drop alternates rise

Saturday 18 April 2009 @ 2:08 am

tomorrow? I only read the AP synopsis and it wasn’t clear what he was proposing, just jawboning against Middle East oil and something about ethanol in 6 years. I’m already using ethanol, so I don’t know what the hold-up is with that. Anyway, did anybody see any indication fuel cell or solar energy stocks will get a pop tomorrow, or any other winners or losers in the stock market?

Is the course of alternative energy stocks influenced by the price of crude oil?

Saturday 18 April 2009 @ 2:08 am

Hi all,

got interested in stock of companies dealing with alternative energy sources. Such would be: wind, water, solar, ethanol, fuel cells etc.

I think the USA is starting to understand that oil will not last forever and that by using it we actually harm our world. I believe that this leads to a rethinking process that will rather soon start pushing the idea of alternative energy sources. Will stocks of such companies suffer every time prices of crude oil falls? Or is the idea of owning such stocks might get more stable?

Thanks
Micron
