A group of Spanish developers working for a company called Ecofasa just announced a new biofuel made up from trash. This isn’t a biodiesel made from used frying oil; instead, it’s made from general urban waste which is treated by bacteria. The result of that bacteria? Fatty acids that can be used to produce standard biodiesel. According to the company’s CEO, the process is fully biologic, competes with no feedstock and is really sustainable. However, the process doesn’t yield that much actual fuel: just one liter of biodiesel from 10 kg of trash. The project is now in a development phase, but Ecofasa said that a commercially viable model could be ready in three to four years.

I have a paper to do on that question and just need some help. If it can how much would it cost? How would the economy beneifit? What procedures would have to be taken to complete this task? How long would it take to convert the vehicle to run on the fuel cell?

I am analyzing the effects of both the 1973 oil crisis and the current 2003 gas crisis and their effects on car design and fuel changes. This will be done for a senior project culminating in September 2009 and requires the use of a community expert who can read my papers and give me general suggestions technically about the subject.

http://water-as-gas.com/ – one of the sites that proves water can be an alternative to gas, since the price of gas/fossil fuel is rising and rising and the earth will be running out of gas someday soon…why dont they implement it in new cars? it will be very beneficial in all aspects.

I wondered what people think of that new Environment Protection bill, that has just been through Congress and will include an additional tax to provide for measures against pollution and to develop new research projects for alternative energies. In my view, it’s basically a good thing, but it seems a bit strange that they would do it so shortly before the elections.

Starting and Running our 1993 Kubota B7100 on Biodiesel. The mixture consisted of 4.5 gallons of frying oil, 1/2 gallon of Kero, 1/4 Gallon of Gaso, 4 ounces of Diesel Kleen Power Service (grey container) and 1 ounce of DSE (diesel secret energy) additive. (dieselsecretenergy.com)

I’m trying to put together a comprehensive website showing all the alternative fuels out there such as: sugar cane, sorghum, methanol wood grain alcohol), green vegetables, seaweed, kelp, natural gas, propane, new creative enzyme to change chlorophyll into alcohol, alcohol synthesis from chlorophyll using natural photosynthesis any other new on the horizon technologies. Any all constructive input would be greatly appreciated. PS: I’ve been hearing a lot about chlorophyll as the MIRACLE FOOD, combined in the blood stream w/carbon dioxide it produces oxygen/glucose sugar when sunshine or any plant light shines on the skin. This would be an earth shattering occurrence for people w/asthma, congestive heart failure, sickle cell anemia so on so on. I found the thread under a web search of Chlorophyll Photosynthesis in the Human Body. I would certainly like to see some clinical test results on how successful this therapy could be

I am in favor of reducing our oil dependency. But ethonal does not seem to be the right alternative. I would favor research to find a more efficient way to produce ethonal, but cut back on it until we find something.
